Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between paying monthly and yearly?
Both types of package come with all our great features and support. The big advantage in paying yearly is that you get two months free of charge every single year!
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept online payments from PayPal and Google Checkout. The great thing about PayPal is you make a secure payment even if you do not have a PayPal account.
We can also accept offline payments by cheque or Bank Transfer on request.
Can I cancel my account at any time?
Yes, you can cancel at any time. Simply let us know by e-mail and we will provide instructions on how to close the account or transfer your domain name if required.
How many domain names can I have on my hosting package?
In our comparison table above the number of 'domains hosted' on a package refers to how many domains you can share your web space between.
Please note: The domain name registration fees is not included in the price of the hosting package and is charged separately.
Can I link a domain with another provider to my hosting account?
If you have a domain name registered with another company you can still link it to your Impression Internet hosting account. Simply log in to your domain name provider's admin panel and change the nameservers to:
mainnameserver.com (82.110.105.2)
ns2.mainnameserver.com (82.110.105.3)
How long will my hosting package take to be setup?
If you order both a domain name and hosting package together using our easy to use online ordering system your account should be activated immediately. If you only want hosting (without a domain name) we will have to setup your account manually so there may be a slight delay. When your account is setup you will receive an e-mail with your admin login details, FTP details and e-mail setup information.
Please note: Some features such as Front Page Extensions require a domain name to be registered and can take between 24 and 48 hours before they can be activated.
How do I renew my hosting account?
If you are paying monthly by PayPal the amount will automatically be processed by PayPal every month. If you are paying yearly we will contact you 30 days before the renewal date with a link to your invoice that can be paid securely online.
Please note: If we do not hear from you after 30 days the account will be deactivated and your website and e-mail address will be taken offline.
Do I need a Linux or Windows server?
Most of our packages use Linux because it is compatible with PHP and MySQL which powers most of the software and websites we host and provide.
If you need to use ASP, ASP.NET or MSSQL for an application of software you will need a Windows hosting package which is available on our Business Professional and Ultimate packages on request.
Most common web scripts like WordPress, Joomla, osCommerce etc require a MySQL database so our default Linux hosting packages are absolutely ideal for these.
